Our Eye Doctors

Dr. Jim Grau grew up near Baltimore, Maryland. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology/Pre-Med from Western Maryland College (now McDaniels College) in Westminster, Maryland. He then worked as a research assistant at Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama School of Optometry in Birmingham in 1982. While attending optometry school, he met his wife Dr. Gail Grau, also a student at the school.

Dr. Gail Grau grew up in Abingdon, Virginia. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Chemistry from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia in 1978. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Unversity of Alabama School of Optometry in Birmingham, Alabama in 1982. While attending optometry school, she met her husband Dr. Jim Grau, also a student at the school.
